Duty Free US/Canada

Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: December 22, 2024

Our Commitment

Duty Free US/Canada is designed to be accessible to everyone. We follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and support iOS accessibility features to ensure all users can track purchases and prepare customs declarations effectively.

Supported Accessibility Features

1. VoiceOver

Full Support: All interactive elements include descriptive labels and hints. Purchase items, warnings, and navigation are fully accessible. For example, adding a purchase is announced with clear context about the item, price, and any associated warnings.

2. Dynamic Type

Full Support: Text scales automatically to match your preferred reading size, from extra small to accessibility sizes. All screens remain fully functional at the largest text size, including purchase lists and declaration summaries.

3. Reduce Transparency

Full Support: When Reduce Transparency is enabled, glass effects are replaced with solid colors for better readability while maintaining visual clarity.

4. Reduce Motion

Full Support: When Reduce Motion is enabled, animations and transitions are simplified or removed. The app respects your system preference throughout.

5. Dark Mode

Full Support: Automatic support for Light and Dark appearance modes. All colors, warnings, and status indicators adapt seamlessly to your preference.

6. Increase Contrast

Full Support: All text and UI elements meet WCAG AA contrast standards. Warning colors and status indicators provide increased contrast when this setting is enabled.

7. Voice Control

Full Support: Navigate and control the entire app using only your voice. All interactive elements have descriptive labels and meet Apple's minimum 44x44 point touch target size.

Design Considerations

Touch Targets

All interactive elements meet the minimum 44x44 point touch target size for reliable selection via touch, pointer, or voice control.

Color Independence

Information is never conveyed by color alone. Warnings and status indicators use icons, labels, and position in addition to color. For example, NEXUS warnings include warning icons and descriptive text, not just color changes.

Warning Clarity

The app uses multiple levels of warnings (Notice, Warning, Critical). Each level is distinguished by icon, color, and descriptive text to ensure all users understand the severity and implications.

Haptic Feedback

Haptic feedback accompanies key actions like adding purchases and acknowledging warnings, providing confirmation for users who may not see visual changes immediately.
