The Basics

By using Duty Free US/Canada ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What You Get

We give you a license to use the app on your devices. The app works entirely offline on your device. No account or internet connection required.

Important Legal Disclaimer

Duty Free is an informational tool, not legal or customs advice. The app provides estimates and guidance only. It is not a substitute for official CBP resources, and we are not responsible for:

• Accuracy of duty calculations (customs rules change frequently)
• Completeness of prohibited/restricted item information
• Customs penalties, fines, or seizures resulting from declarations
• NEXUS revocation or other consequences
• Any decisions made based on app information

Always verify with CBP.gov and official sources. The app does not replace official CBP declaration forms (6059B, Mobile Passport, APC kiosks). You are solely responsible for accurate and truthful customs declarations.

What We Don't Do

• We don't warranty the app for any particular purpose
• We don't guarantee accuracy of duty estimates or exemption calculations
• We don't guarantee completeness of restricted item databases
• We don't backup your data (it's stored locally on your device)
• We don't provide data recovery if you delete something
• We don't provide legal, customs, or immigration advice

Your Responsibilities

• Verify all information with official CBP sources before declaring
• Make truthful and accurate customs declarations
• Understand that customs rules change—the app may not reflect the latest regulations
• Don't use the app for anything illegal
• You're responsible for your own device and data backups

Family/Traveler Management

When you add travelers to your trip:

• You're responsible for the accuracy of their information
• Exemption pooling calculations are estimates only
• Each traveler must make their own truthful declaration to CBP

Pricing

Duty Free is free. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no hidden costs.

Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is." We're not liable for any damages from using or not being able to use the app, including but not limited to customs penalties, fines, seizures, NEXUS revocation, or any other consequences of customs declarations. Our maximum liability is the amount you paid us (which is $0).

Termination

You can stop using the app anytime. Use "Delete All Data" in Settings to remove your data. We can terminate or modify the service anytime, though we'll try to give reasonable notice for major changes.

Changes

We might update these terms. We'll post changes here. Continued use of the app means you accept the new terms.

Disputes

These terms are governed by Washington State law. Any disputes will be handled in Washington courts.
